Our 200th Posting!!
Well, here we are at 37 weeks. Thank goodness there's not much longer to go. Even maternity clothes are feeling snug now!! This is the 200th posting to our Blog Site, I'm happy to say, and will be our last until after baby comes as we plan to head to Saskatoon tomorrow to wait for baby to arrive (hopefully soon). Take Care!
Last weekend we spent as much time as possible taking in the festivities at our local homecoming celebrations. The town did an amazing job of keeping people busy. Scott spent some time getting us set up and shaded to watch the parade which had over 108 floats and lasted over an hour. Jesson's favorite parts were the machinery and ATV's of course. He LOVED the petting zoo. He was there for 45 minutes and didn't want to leave. The goats were a hit, and the colored rabbits were very friendly too. He had his first pony ride after he was done petting animals and he really enjoyed that too. We took in as much as my swollen feet would allow then headed home for naps in between. It was fun to see some people who had moved away, which was the whole idea behind the celebration. The weekend was a blast!
Well, it's coming closer to the end! After the long weekend we headed toward Saskatoon pulling the trailer and boat with the intention of dropping off the trailer for minor fix-ups at the dealer, then heading home. Once we were on the highway I started to feel contractions, not painful, just annoying. I counted them most of the way to the city and when we reached city limits I told Scott about them and suggested we get checked out ("You choose NOW to tell me this?" he said). They were 6 minutes apart and regular as clockwork. By the time we dropped off the trailer and headed to the hospital to be put on a monitor in the fetal assessment department, they were anywhere from 2-3 minutes apart. Baby was fine and there was been no progress southward so we were told to come back in a couple of hours to get checked again. Luckily our good friends Joe and Darlene have opened their lovely house to us for whenever the baby decides to arrive. They watched Jesson for us while we were checked out the second time, and we stayed with them over night. We headed for home the next day after a visit with the OB. I've been told to put up with the contractions, which don't hurt anyway, and let them know when my water breaks, etc. Aside from that I'm to carry on - literally. I feel massive, but for the most part healthy, with a little swelling if it gets too hot or if I stay too busy without sitting. That's the latest with us, we see the OB again on the 11th. Hopefully the little guy will stay put for a little longer, 35 weeks is too early in my opinion. We'll keep you posted on our progress. Take Care!
Happy Canada Day Long Weekend! Scott was FINALLY able to get our boat wet after two seasons of waiting. The last time it saw water was the year Jesson was born. The two of them "fished" together several times over the weekend. Jesson stayed up to see his first fireworks on July 1st too. He really liked them and when they were over, he said "do again Daddy?" as if Scott had powers to start them over again. It was a lot of fun, thanks Gramma and Grampa Nicholetts for the trailer space!
Happy 2nd Birthday Jesson!!
The day was wet and cool, but the two little ones who attended had a blast with Jesson in the yard and under the carport once the rain came. They ate cake and opened presents like they were pros. Jesson had so much fun with kids over he asked for days after if there were kids at the door when the bell would ring. Congrats to our big boy!
