The Boys are growing like weeds! I know I say that every time but it's really true. I've had to resort to filling their hollow legs with oatmeal before bed to get a good nights rest. They are busy, busy, busy always playing with their trucks or scrapping over a toy. Conor is still into driving everything making cute motor noises as he goes, while Jesson loves to build things and pretend. They keep me on my toes during the day and there's never a dull moment in the evening when Daddy's home either. The not-so-new-anymore puppy, Jasper, is getting along quite well as well. He's house trained now and learns tricks quickly, picking up on how to "shake a paw" using pieces of only one milk bone! He starts his obedience classes in November and I'm looking forward to trying something new. Tonight Jasper enjoyed a romp in the tub with the boys and they thought that was neat to have company also, it was just the mess of dog puddles and wet towels after Jasper jumped out sopping wet that I could have done without. Oh well, another adventure survived! I wouldn't trade them for the world!
Happy 1st Birthday Conor! I seem to have forgotten to post photos of Conor's birthday!?! Luckily my sister was kind enough to tune me in. Conor's birthday was a busy one. We held a garage sale for most of the day, then hauled away the remains and set up tables for food and cake. We had a blast but we were all VERY tired when the day was over. Conor didn't mind the whole birthday bit, but he had a lot of help with his wrapping paper from his oh-so-experienced big brother. He got a kick out of all the new toys and loves his new toy box that Grandma had finished for him just in time for his birthday. It was a gift in memory of Grandpa McNally who almost had it finished before he passed away. It sure means a lot! All in all it was a great day and lots of fun!
Today was Jesson's first day of Playschool (sniff sniff). He's been asking every morning for the past week, "Can I go to school NOW Mom?". He had a blast today and told me the whole story about his morning singing the songs he learned at school too. He came home with his first piece of school art, luckily it's a finger-painted folder to put the rest of his art into. He can hardly wait to go back again next week.
Jesson is our helper. He's very independant except for his regularly scheduled "Mommy and Jesson time" during Conor's nap in the morning when he doesn't even let me leave the room to get a coffee. He's still very busy and now that he pretends a lot his little mind is flying non-stop from one scenario to the next. He's still in to things that go, like Hot Wheels cars, Dad's Quad, or anything with a motor. He loves the outdoors and would spend all day in the back yard if I'd let him, but there are those pesky annoyances like meals and nap times that get in his way. He's Daddy's little buddy when it comes to fixing things and tools and my buddy when I've got kitchen gadgets running. Jesson is not his brother's best buddy yet but he's getting better and has started asking Conor to come and play every so often, but then gets mad when Conor doesn't follow him immediately. He's a good boy and loves to please.
Our baby Conor is quite a card. He loves to do things to get a reaction...especially out of his Dad. His favorite trick is touching the TV screen which usually makes Dad jump off the couch. He loves to test us, going back to a forbidden object over and over to see what we'll do next. He drives Jesson nuts daily and is too much of a bruiser to take Jesson's rough-housing to heart. The animals have learned to stear clear whenever they see Conor coming. He's now 24 lbs and growing fast!
Our baby finally went for his first hair cut. He wasn't crazy about the razor, or the scissors, or sitting in the chair for that matter, but he made it through and he looks SO big now! Daddy thinks he aged 6 months and I'm mourning his baby locks but he looks better without the hair in his eyes. We saved a few locks of the redish-tipped baby hair for his baby book.
Holy Hail! This hit us the evening of August 23rd. We had to duct tape a few holes in the trailer roof vents and lost a few Christmas lights on the house but the vehicles were fine and the house made it through (darn!). Some of the local area crops however weren't so lucky. The crop Jesson is standing in used to be 50 bu/acre Durum as tall as he was. The bin had a nasty ride too.
Jesson continues on with his love for photography, or at least he did until we misplaced our little Canon camera. I'm sure he'll resume his passion as soon as it's either found or replaced. The old girl had taken over 6,000 images for us before she got lost so if she has gone to a new home I guess she doesn't really owe us anything.
