Welcome Jasper! Our search for a furry family member is over. On Sunday we picked up our newest addition. He's a purebred miniature poodle from Lezerin Miniature Poodles in Saskatoon(Thanks Leslie!). He's going to be a little larger than he should be and that's exactly what we were looking for. I've been searching theInternet and talking to breeders since last December looking for a Standard Poodle and recently made the transition to a smaller dog instead and had a much easier time finding the perfect one from a great breeder close to home. He's only been here less than a day but he's already wiggled his way into everyone's heart. He loves the kids, had a great night last night, and while he sleeps at my feet as I type, I know he's going to turn out perfectly. He's a little homesick but we're trying to make him comfortable and even Vera has warmed up to him a little. He's a sweet little guy and he's here to stay!
Conor is on the go constantly! Since learning to walk he's run out of mileage for this year! While we were on holidays, he used a walking toy to get around for a while, then ditched it and took off on his own only a few days later. He's a happy, happy, busy little boy who loves to explore and taste everything in his path (rocks, sand, plants, doesn't matter). Conor really enjoys the kiddie pool and loves to be outside wandering. He's a bit of a trouble maker and loves to get in the middle of Jesson's toys and make him yell(des-ja-vous, hey grandma?). He really loves his big brother and picks up his actions and noises very quickly (unfortunately sometimes). He's doing so well at walking that he almost seems to be running sometimes and only wants to be carried when he's tired. He's going to be another busy, busy boy!
Jesson is a busy boy! During our holiday in the trailer he mastered the tricycle. He started to practice at Grandma and Grandpa Nicholetts' cabin while we visited for July 1st weekend and perfected his pedaling on the pavement at Gordon Howe Campground in Saskatoon the following week. We bought him a plastic wagon to pull behind and he carried our shower gear or water bottles wherever we went, it was so cute! Our holiday was HOT to say the least so we stuck around the campsite and played in the pool a lot. We made a tour to a local community paddling pool for the boys to splash one day and ventured to the Forestry Farm another. Aside from that and a little shopping where there was air conditioning, we stayed in the campground and frequented the playground. Most recently Jesson is busy chasing Jasper or vise-versa. I think it's love at first sight between the two of them. Jesson's a little bit bossy and in his face a little too much but he's still excited that he's here to stay. It won't be long and Jasper will be sleeping in bed with him I'm sure.
Jesson has become quite a photographer. He can turn on our Canon digital camera, he picks a subject and presses the "go" button slowly first to focus, and he's actually pretty good!! He has a knack for the abstract and enjoys taking pictures of egg cartons and dishes, but they're really interesting shots. I think he has true talent!! But then I'm just a little biased.
