Thanks Colette!
I would like to thank my good friend Colette Olson for letting me in on her secret web site for Baby Birthday Tickers. I maybe overdid it a little putting two tickers on, but more is always better, right! Thanks Colette.
Not Much New Here
I know it's been a while since our last posting but not much has changed. Jesson is as busy as ever, developing more and more attitude as the days pass and Scott and I continue the pursuit for parental knowledge that will tell us exactly what to do with a kid exactly like ours. Unfortunately such information doesn't exist because he, like every other kid, is a one-of-a-kind! While we wouldn't change a thing we sometimes wish we had a little more intuition to tell us what behavioral anomaly to expect next. Raising a toddler gives you a whole new respect for your own parents.
I recently posted a Congratulations to Scott for advancing to Deputy Chief of the Rosetown Fire Department and must now withdraw that. The present Deputy Chief, who told Scott he was stepping down and that Scott could have his position, decided to change his mind as he didn't want to give up the command. While elections night is over for this year, Scott will have to wait until next year to express his interest in the position. He's disappointed because he was excited to take on the new role but we know he's an excellent fireman regardless of the color of his hat.
For now, I guess we'll keep plugging along, counting down the days until Christmas (which is fast approaching) and try to get you some more pictures within the next few days. Scott and I plan to make a trip to Edmonton this weekend, child-free I might add, to visit his brother Pat and Pat's girlfriend DeAnn while Grandma and Grandpa Nicholetts stay here with Jesson. They say they're looking forward to this but they have no idea what they are in for. I can imagine when we return they'll be flat out on the floor in a heap of toys while Jesson runs rampant in his birthday suit. I'm sure they'll manage to have a blast together though.
We hope all is well with everyone, take care. McNally's

From Red Hat to White, Congratulations Daddy!
Here Jesson tried on Scott's red fire hat, it weighs a lot so he had to help him hold it up. Pretty soon Scott will be wearing a white hat as he is being promoted to Deputy-Chief. He's worked hard, learned all he can whenever he can, and truly enjoys working with the Fire Department. Congratulations Daddy!
Yesterday a few Rosetown Fire Department members once again helped out with hanging Christmas lights at the library park using the ladder truck to get high up into the trees. Scott gave Jesson a chance to sit in the driver's seat once they were finished. You can barely see him in there but his little face is in the front window. He loved that!
Welcome Great Grandma Nicholetts!
Hi Great Grandma Nicholetts!
Welcome to our Blog site. We were thrilled to hear that you were planning to visit our site, and we hope you're on the mend and feeling better. Here's our most recent photo of Jesson touring around the front yard eating snow balls. We don't have much snow so it's getting more and more difficult to find a pile that's clean enough for him to munch on. But a little dirt never hurt a kid, I guess.
For those of you who haven't met her my Grandma, Maria Nicholetts, lives in Thunder Bay, Ont. which is unfortunately a long way away from Rosetown. We miss her a lot and wish we were closer so we could intruduce her to Jesson in person, I know he'd love her too. Well Grandma we wish you a speedy recovery so things can get back to normal for you. We'll talk to you soon.
Love You Lots,
McNally's.

Long Story Short…I’m Fine!
Yesterday I finally spoke with my surgeon who told me that the results of the biopsy are negative. Yaaaaay! And so now, life can go on. He hadn’t heard anything yesterday morning so had his secretary phone to pester the pathologist’s office and I heard the good news yesterday afternoon. I was relieved to say the least.
I asked Dr. Hansen what to expect in the future and he explained that the findings of the biopsy don’t warrant any close observation. They found Fibrocystic breast tissue, which I already knew due to Fibrocystic Breast Changes (or Disease depending on who you talk to), and Fibroadenoma which doesn’t transform into any type of malignant mass although it can change in size over time, and the bi-lateral Microcalcifications that were found on the mammogram. Wow that’s a lot of stuff jam packed into two very little spaces ;-). So for now I’ve been told to go for a repeat mammogram after 1 to 1 ½ years, then not again until later in life hopefully.
It’s nice to have this episode over with at least for now so we can carry on with daily life without that nagging “what if…” in the back of our heads. It surprised me the kinds of thoughts that ran through my mind about what could happen. Despite the fact I tried really hard to suppress every emotion until being told I had anything to worry about, I couldn’t control my imagination. Thank God in this case my mind blew things WAY out of proportion and in the end life carries on as usual.
Thank you to everyone who expressed his or her best wishes and prayers for a positive outcome. I most of all owe a huge thanks to my loving husband who held his cool even through several emotional stretches he obviously saw as nerves. I Love You Babe!

Happy Halloween Everyone!
This year was much more fun than the screaming fit I got last year when I stuffed Jesson into a devil costume just long enough to snap a few cranky looking pictures. This year I struggled with him to put some make-up on almost pinning him to the bathroom sink to prevent him from losing an eye in the process. Once I had put on all he would let me I stood him up and showed him, he whined at the mirror not too sure whether he liked that or not, then he tried to wipe it off. Away from the mirror he forgot he was wearing it and concentrated on giving his Dad “what for” for spreading ketchup on his shirt to look like blood. The tongue-lashing carried on throughout the evening even after Scott had taken off the shirt. I only hope he doesn’t view this as normal, every day behavior and try this it at the dinner table. It will be hard to reprimand him for something he saw Daddy do.
So all dressed up, and with treat bucket in hand he waddled up to a few doors and then stood there staring at whoever answered the door. Despite my efforts to get him to say anything it took him until the very last house to speak up only to have him yell at the door before we had even knocked. I think he was starting to get the idea by then, just in time to quit due to the cold. All totaled I think we visited 6 or 7 houses within a couple of blocks of home to give him a chance to experience what Halloween is about. He got quite a kick out of seeing other kids all dressed up, and ran to the door when the bell rang to see who was there. I think we ended up with a total of 42 kids at our house. As always there were kids who had put a lot of effort into their costumes and there were those who showed up without, still expecting treats.
This year will be remembered for a long time as Jesson’s first trick or treating experience. He gave most of the houses he had visited a double take today on the way back from the grocery store. I wonder if he thinks he can knock on their doors any day for treats? It’s hard to say. We’ll know more of what goes through his head next Halloween, by then he’ll be able to carry on a conversation.
Happy Halloween To All. Take Care,
McNally’s.
