On Friday August 27th, several members of the Rosetown Fire Department along with others, rode the Heart & Stroke Foundation's Bicycle Built for 30 as a fund raiser. Scott raised a total of $135.00. All totalled the Fire Department bought in over $1,000 for the cause. Posted by Hello

Once I had the mower ready I tried to put Jesson into his stroller with some snacks so I could get the lawn cut. He cried with heartbroken tears running down his face because he couldn't come with me. So, being the push-over that I am, I devised a seat for him to ride in. He loved it for the first couple of rounds, then had enough and was content to watch from the sidelines again. He's such a boy! I did finally end up getting the weeds shortened after all of that. After getting things ready to cut the grass, I headed into the house to tie up my hair for a minute. When I returned I found Jesson on top of the lawnmower ready for a ride. He was searching the engine for a start button when I came outside. I guess he thought it looked like a quad or something. Posted by Hello

Yesterday was a very busy day for Jesson. He hasn't figured out how to fit his Mega Blocks together, but he figured out that he fits into my pantry just fine! Posted by Hello

Once he'd napped he was in a much better mood to show off his hair do. He was a very good boy at the salon again, and enjoyed his sucker immensely. Posted by Hello

On Wednesday Jesson got his second real hair cut. On the way to the Salon he was complaining about his size 4 shoes, so we headed to the Saan store for new ones once his hair was cut. After finishing our running around and visiting Daddy's office to show off his new hair and shoes, we headed home. As you can tell from the picture, he had had enough! It was nap time! Posted by Hello

This week Tuesday, we had busy little visitors. My girlfriend Stacey Thrun and her three kids, Matthew-5, Kaitlyn-3, and Garrett-8 mos, drove 1 1/2 hours to visit for the day. Jesson wasn't too sure what to do with all the action and noise, but seemed to enjoy his new friends. Garrett was very interested in Jesson's sippy cup, and highchair strap while they were having their snack, quite cute. It was great to see the kids (and Stacey too, of course) they just grow up too fast. Posted by Hello

I guess we've been watching too much of the Summer Olympic coverage lately because Jesson has decided to start toting empty water jugs around. As if learning to walk wasn't difficult enough! Posted by Hello

On the 20th, Grandma Nicholetts came to visit for the weekend. Jesson did his best to wear her out every chance he got. His favourite trick was to grab her hand while she was sitting on the floor, then take off walking, expecting her to follow on her knees. Needless to say this ended in a giggling fit for all involved. Posted by Hello

Happy 75th Birthday Grandpa McNally!
On August 19th Ken turned 75. Lois and Della planned a get-together barbecue at the farm to celebrate. In this photo he's holding a gag gift from Lois & Ernie Henderson. It's a mock medical kit, which includes emergency supplies to handle cut fingers. Ken has had a bit of finger trouble in the past, twice with the table saw, and once with the lawnmower so that's where the joke got started. Now he's equipped to handle anything! Plenty of fun, and of course food, was had by all. It was a great evening. Posted by Hello

We recently downloaded the photos from Scott's Nikon, and on there was this priceless picture of Jesson and I on the quad May long weekend. He rode until he couldn't stay awake anymore, then his head fell in my arm. The funny part about this is the I did the same thing as a kid when I was riding on the snowmobile with my Dad. Funny how things come full circle. Posted by Hello

Jesson's First Ex!

On Friday August 13th, Scott, Jesson and I made a trip to the Ex. We had parked our trailer at Gordie Howe campground for a weekend of fun. Jesson started the weekend off with a strange fever which came and went throughout the weekend, but didn't ruin his fun.

The Ex was a blast. Jesson enjoyed all of the sights, sounds, and smells he could. He rode on a ride, played a game, visited the petting zoo, saw a bit af a concert, and sampled some Ex food too. We sat in the grass and listened to Harlequin play. Jesson was trying to eat his ice cream and dance at the same time, his shirt saw some ice cream too.

We all had a lot of fun but were ready to head home when we had seen everything. Each night Scott and I watched the exhibition fireworks through the trees behind our campsite, so we didn't miss a thing. It was a tonne of fun!

By the time we had seen everything there was to see, Jesson was done! He layed in the stroller and watched the people, and the lights. Needless to say he fell asleep very quickly when we got home. Posted by Hello

Jesson's first ever carnival ride was the Merry-go-round. His big horse went really fast! He loved the ride, but had a hard time finding Daddy in the croud while spinning around. Posted by Hello

The petting zoo was one of Jesson's favourite things to do. The goats were very friendly and fuzzy. He didn't want to leave. Posted by Hello

Once the right ducks were picked, he chose his prizes. He came home with a blue puppy and an orange snake. Posted by Hello

At the Ex, Jesson played the duck game. It was really hard to pick the right duck, I guess they all looked too good. Posted by Hello

In the early afternoon on Friday, Jesson and I spent some time in the grass at Gordie Howe Park "repairing" the tires on the stroller and taking in some fresh air. Posted by Hello

Jesson is starting to slow down a little and enjoy things for longer than 30 seconds at a time. He used to hurry from one spot to the next as if he were scared he'd miss something. Now it's OK for him to relax with Dad and watch Baby Einstein for a few minutes...cold beer in hand, of course! ;)

Jesson is becoming quite a mimic. He really enjoys doing everything Mommy and Daddy do. Which is turning out to be a good thing in most cases - now he doesn't mind having his teeth brushed!

Jesson Walks!

On the evening of August 5th, Jesson mustered up the courage to leave the couch and head for the toy box, about 10 steps away, and he made it! He took a moment to stand there and check out the room, then turned around and motored about 5 steps over to the coffee table. It was an amazing sight to see. We've been waiting for some time as he's been walking well holding onto things for months now. He seems very happy with his new accomplishment and has now started trying to stand up and take off from a sitting position instead of using objects to prop himself. He's still quite wobbly, but I don't think it will be long and we'll be running to keep up with him. For now I only have videos of the first steps, but I'll try to catch a pic to share online too.

Being the "boy" that he is, Jesson decided to taste Mommy's project when asked how he liked the new flower bed! That wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

Jesson's not overly picky as to where he is when the opportunity arises to maul his cats.

Jesson still spends a lot of time in hot persuit of any 4 legged friend within crawling distance. They don't know it, but it won't be long and he'll be able to run!

Jesson was so happy to be home he crawled up on his newly conquered couch and relaxed with a Baby Einstein video while I unpacked a few things.

They are best of buds. Kitten (Dude) wouldn't want you to know this but, even when he looks disgusted with Jesson, he purrs just as loud as ever!

Once we returned home after only 4 days, Jesson acted as though he hadn't seen his kitty cat for a year. The poor cat didn't even have a chance to say Hello and Jesson was on top of him.

August Long Weekend

On the afternoon of July 29th we packed up the trailer again and made the trip to Jackfish lake for the "August Long weekend". We had a lot of fun again. Jesson rode the quad constantly. Mommy and Grandma Nicholetts made a trek to North Battleford on the Saturday morning to take in the garage sales and left Grandpa, Daddy, and Jesson back at the cabin. It was a ladies morning out, well worthwhile. We didn't buy ourselves anything but we found LOTS of brand name clothing for Jesson. Some great deals too. We tired ourselves out and headed home early that afternoon. Daddy and Grandpa spent a while down at beach level playing horseshoes. The weather was nice every night so we managed to end each day sitting around the fire with a few "conversation starters" in hand.

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for having us. XOXO
