Obsessed Much?

This boy...I don't know what we're going to do with him??
I have never seen any other 17 month old kid as passionate about anything as Jesson is about ATV's and snowmobiles. Last weekend while Scott was moving the sled from the back storage area around to the house, Jesson rode with him the whole 200 yards or so. Once the machine was turned off and we headed for the house, Jesson went into hysterics - crying until he almost couldn't breath, making motor noises while spitting all over the front of his jacket, and pointing back at the sled and some bicycle helmets (which were close enough for sledding in his opinion).
I can't get over how badly he seems to NEED to ride on things that make noise. An example of his love of motors came when he sat on the pressure washer, now stored in the basement for winter, and kicked at the tires making spitting motor noises on that as well. He's obsessed!
He makes his motor noises for every truck (his second love) that goes by outside, every snowmobile or ATV he sees on TV or in magazines, and every time we head outside he makes sure I understand he'd like to go for a ride. While we are both thrilled that he's found something he's really interested in, we both thought that would come a little later in life than 17 months old.
Oh well, maybe he'll be the next Blaire Morgan and support us in our retirement?
This picture is actually the first frame of a video I shot, I didn't have any stills to post, sorry.

Here we go again!

Baby #2 is due August 10, 2005. This is the preliminary ultrasound which shows...well...nothing really, but it's all I had to show you. The doctor was just checking to make sure we were on track, I guess. The little critter is only about the size of a sesame seed so far. I'm sure we'll have much more footage to share in the future!

Thanks Colette!
I would like to thank my good friend Colette Olson for letting me in on her secret web site for Baby Birthday Tickers. I maybe overdid it a little putting two tickers on, but more is always better, right! Thanks Colette.
Not Much New Here
I know it's been a while since our last posting but not much has changed. Jesson is as busy as ever, developing more and more attitude as the days pass and Scott and I continue the pursuit for parental knowledge that will tell us exactly what to do with a kid exactly like ours. Unfortunately such information doesn't exist because he, like every other kid, is a one-of-a-kind! While we wouldn't change a thing we sometimes wish we had a little more intuition to tell us what behavioral anomaly to expect next. Raising a toddler gives you a whole new respect for your own parents.
I recently posted a Congratulations to Scott for advancing to Deputy Chief of the Rosetown Fire Department and must now withdraw that. The present Deputy Chief, who told Scott he was stepping down and that Scott could have his position, decided to change his mind as he didn't want to give up the command. While elections night is over for this year, Scott will have to wait until next year to express his interest in the position. He's disappointed because he was excited to take on the new role but we know he's an excellent fireman regardless of the color of his hat.
For now, I guess we'll keep plugging along, counting down the days until Christmas (which is fast approaching) and try to get you some more pictures within the next few days. Scott and I plan to make a trip to Edmonton this weekend, child-free I might add, to visit his brother Pat and Pat's girlfriend DeAnn while Grandma and Grandpa Nicholetts stay here with Jesson. They say they're looking forward to this but they have no idea what they are in for. I can imagine when we return they'll be flat out on the floor in a heap of toys while Jesson runs rampant in his birthday suit. I'm sure they'll manage to have a blast together though.
We hope all is well with everyone, take care. McNally's

From Red Hat to White, Congratulations Daddy!
Here Jesson tried on Scott's red fire hat, it weighs a lot so he had to help him hold it up. Pretty soon Scott will be wearing a white hat as he is being promoted to Deputy-Chief. He's worked hard, learned all he can whenever he can, and truly enjoys working with the Fire Department. Congratulations Daddy!

Yesterday a few Rosetown Fire Department members once again helped out with hanging Christmas lights at the library park using the ladder truck to get high up into the trees. Scott gave Jesson a chance to sit in the driver's seat once they were finished. You can barely see him in there but his little face is in the front window. He loved that!

Welcome Great Grandma Nicholetts!
Hi Great Grandma Nicholetts!
Welcome to our Blog site. We were thrilled to hear that you were planning to visit our site, and we hope you're on the mend and feeling better. Here's our most recent photo of Jesson touring around the front yard eating snow balls. We don't have much snow so it's getting more and more difficult to find a pile that's clean enough for him to munch on. But a little dirt never hurt a kid, I guess.
For those of you who haven't met her my Grandma, Maria Nicholetts, lives in Thunder Bay, Ont. which is unfortunately a long way away from Rosetown. We miss her a lot and wish we were closer so we could intruduce her to Jesson in person, I know he'd love her too. Well Grandma we wish you a speedy recovery so things can get back to normal for you. We'll talk to you soon.
Love You Lots,
McNally's.
